New ideas

We need more volunteers to educate our children and teens in the community about the importance of adopting a pet from a shelter, and that by "fixing" your cats, can everyone slow the overpopulation. It will also help solve the problem of homeless cats and the struggle of full shelters. You're probably thinking, "I can do that... but I don't know what to say".
Well this is where we need your help.
Our High Schools and Colleges are Community are filled with skilled writers, wonderful public speakers, and creative people that use social networks to express their creativity and ideas on Youtube.com.
What we need is someone that can write a 3-5 minute motivational speech so that we can attach it to our website in PDF format to help those that would like to help but need a little extra in expressing how important this is.

How would you like to have YOUR youtube video on our front page?
All you need to do is come up with a motivational video on why people should adopt a cat. It should be fun, tender, or inspirational and no more than 4 minutes. Remember to put CC Pet Haven Cares in your description.
As shelter owners know, compassion fatigue is a very real issue and when our community feels that the problem of cats in shelters is too overwhelming, our funding gets smaller. So we want your video to be about how great cats are; it should be funny or cute and let people know how wonderful they make you feel. The possibilities are endless...

Invite Pet Haven to come in and spread awareness at schools
Cindy September 2012
One of the known issues that have been holding us back from speaking at schools is that we must be invited. I'm writing this in the hope that some of our supporters at schools can suggest that we come in and speak to the students and faculty about the importance of adopting animals from a shelter and the importance of spaying and neutering your pets.
